RIDGE, Md. -- We are receiving reports of a multi-vehicle crash this evening that has at least two being sent out by helicopter at this time.

At approximately 5:53 p.m. on December 4, first responders were called to the scene in the 16000 block of Three Notch Road in Ridge, in the area of St. Michael's School. The crash reportedly involved four vehicles, and had some patients trapped in their vehicles.

Upon arrival, crews found all four vehicles still in the roadway, with some of the vehicles sustaining serious damage. Two patients were found trapped inside their vehicle, and having sustained life-threatening injuries.

EMS on the scene have confirmed that there are a total of six patients involved in the crash.

A landing zone was established at the field by St. Michael's School to transport one of the patients to a nearby trauma center. Other patients involved are still being assessed by EMS on the scene.

This is a developing story. We will continue to provide additional details as they come available.
