Fire Marshal Investigating Early Morning Garage Fire in Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD, Md. - On December 31. 2020, at approximately 2:30 a.m., firefighters were responded a possible garage fire on Abell Farm Lane in Hollywood.  

Units arrived on location of a 25x30 garage well involved with an exposure to a two story house on the right side. 

Engine 72 arrived on location, dropping a supply line from the designated supply point, with the crew stretching an attack line to the garage. 

The crew of Engine 72 placed the attack line between the garage and house to limit the exposure problem.

Truck 7 arrived on the scene and assisted Engine 72 with the attack and checking the interior of the house for extension. No extension was found in the house and crews operated multiple lines to extinguish the fire. No injuries have been reported.

Tanker 74 arrived and assisted with water supply and supplying the fire ground. 

The fire was brought under control in approximately 40 minutes and assignment was scaled back shortly after.  Crews remained on the scene conducting overhaul and assisting the Fire Marshal's.  Units from HVFD cleared the scene and returned to quarters at 5:00 a.m..  

Firefighters from Hollywood, Bay District, Hollywood, Solomons, Seventh District and NAS Patuxent River responded.
