ADVISORY: Potential for Icy Road Conditions Thursday Morning

LEONARDTOWN, Md. – Icy road conditions are possible in some areas this morning. Significant winter weather has ended, but scattered snow showers may continue to drop very light amounts of precipitation in parts of northern St. Mary’s County. Also, wet roads may freeze up as temperatures dipped overnight and in the early morning hours. Anyone venturing out early this morning should use extreme caution and assume any surfaces that appear wet may be icy. Residents should plan for extra time for their morning travel.

In preparation, the Department of Public Works & Transportation treated county overpasses and bridges and other road surfaces overnight. Crews will continue to monitor road conditions throughout the day.
