The Newtowne Players at Three Notch Theatre will present Inspecting Carol, a hilarious comedy written by Daniel Sullivan and the Seattle Repertory Company. The comedy is a combination of A Christmas Carol meets The Government Inspector meets Noises Off! and is back by popular demand!

The show will run December 9-18 for two weekends at Three Notch Theatre, home of the players located in the former Lexington Park Library building at 21744 South Coral Drive, Lexington Park, MD 20653.

Performances of Inspecting Carol will be at 8:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evenings, Dec.9-10 and Dec.15-17. A special reduced ticket featuring $2.00 off regular ticket prices is offered on Thursday, December 15th. Matinees on Sunday, Dec. 11 and 18 will be at 3:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for students and seniors, and $8 for children 12 and under. For ticket reservations or for more information, call Three Notch Theatre at 301-737-5447 or on line at www.newtowneplayers.com.

This adult Christmas comedy will keep the audience laughing out loud. The high-jinks and humor begin when a man who wants to audition at a small, struggling theatre is mistaken for an inspector with the National Endowment for the Arts. Everyone in the company caters to the bewildered wannabe actor and they give him a role in the current production of "A Christmas Carol." Everything goes wrong and hilarity piles upon hilarity, drawing the play within the play to a truly unexpected ending. The show includes some language that may not be suitable for young children.

“Our first time producing this show was two years ago in the basement of the (former) Do-Dah Deli in Leonardtown. Audiences enjoyed it so much, we have brought it to Three Notch Theatre. We hope our patrons will enjoy it as much the second time around with new cast members” Says Wendy Heidrich, director and founder of The Newtowne Players.

While attending shows, theater-goers will find coffee and refreshments available in the lobby’s Alatte Concession Expressions, and a cash bar.

The Newtowne Players is a non-profit community theatre run by volunteers. For more information on volunteering, auditioning, sponsoring the theatre, information on up-coming events, or reservations, call 301-737-5447, or visit the website at www.newtowneplayers.com.
