Master Sergeant Kevin Keelen Retires After 27 Years With The Charles County Sheriff's Office

WALDORF, Md. -- The following message was published on social media by the Charles County Sheriff's Office regarding another retirement within the department this year.

"Today is a bittersweet day for the CCSO, as we are saying farewell to another very special member of our family. Master Sergeant Kevin Keelen #265 is going 10-42 for the last time as he is retiring after nearly 27 years of dedicated service to the Charles County Sheriff's Office.

Throughout his law enforcement career, M/Sgt. Keelan has served in Corrections, Patrol, Criminal Investigations, and Judicial Services. In addition to his regular duties, he was a member of the Emergency Services Team for 5 years as well as a Firearms Instructor.

His proudest accomplishment was working with a great team of detectives to close the Chris Mader homicide investigation, as well as being able to help other victims of crimes and their families. His greatest memories are the friendships and bonds he has made with many fellow officers.

His retirement plans include "being retired" and having more time to do the things he loves: ice hockey, golf, going to the beach, and traveling.

Kevin, thank you for an outstanding career marked with excellence. We are truly going to miss you! Please remember that you will always be part of our family."
