Calvert Circuit Court Honors Graduates of Adult Treatment Court

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. - The Circuit Court for Calvert County Adult Treatment Court held a graduation ceremony Oct. 25, 2018, to honor 13 participants who successfully completed a minimum of 18 months of intensive treatment.

The Calvert County Adult Treatment Court was established to enhance the well-being and safety of the community through heightened treatment and supervision of substance abusing offenders, providing comprehensive services with the goal of breaking the cycle of abuse. The Adult Treatment Court has seen more than 53 graduates since the program’s inception.

“These 13 graduates are truly representative of everything we are trying to achieve in Adult Treatment Court,” said Calvert County Circuit Court Associate Judge Mark Chandlee. “They are now sober and productive citizens in our community.”

In attendance to celebrate the graduates were guest speaker Megan Sarikaya, a certified peer recovery specialist with Calvert Behavioral Health. Diplomas were presented by Associate Judge Mark Chandlee who personally recognized each graduate for their continued commitment to sober living.
