Active shooter alert issued by Ohio State University

COLUMBUS, OH. -- Ohio State University was placed on alert for an active shooter on Monday morning.

The school first issued a Buckeye Alert shortly before 10 a.m. that read "Active Shooter on campus. Run Hide Fight. Watts Hall. 19th and College."

About 20 minutes later, public safety tweeted "Continue to shelter in place in north campus area. Follow directions of Police on scene."

A post on Twitter from the college newspaper shows some crime scene tape, while another shows several emergency vehicles.

Middletown Police Chief Randy Muterspaw said on Twitter that his son had sent a photo from campus.
