Mary Jean Moran, 74, of Hughesville Mary Jean Moran, 74, of Hughesville died Jan. 7, 2003 at Washington Hospital Center. She was a Retired Cafeteria Worker at Tc Martin, La Plata High School and the Gwynn Center. She retired in 1988. Born March 22, 1928, in Leonardtown. She was the daughter of the late James Carroll and the late Mary Magdeline Carroll. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, James C. Spalding, Joseph Spalding; sisters, Gertrude Eing, and Elizabeth Russell. She is survived by her husband, of 53 years, William Matthew Moran, of Hughesville; daughters, Elaine Moran Moffett, of Owings Mills, Md., Debbie Moran Brown, of Charlotte Hall, Md., and Terri Moran Rose, of Hughesville, Md.; son, Mike Moran, of Louisa, Va., and Scott Moran, of Bryantown, Md.; brother, Charles Spalding, of La Plata; daughter-in-law, Teresa Moran; sons-in-law, Danny Moffett, of Owings Mills; Tommy Brown, of Charlotte Hall; and Tony Rose, of Hughesville; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Kirby, Tom Brown, Jr., Melanie Meissner, Tony Rose, Jr., Bethany Moran, Emily Moran, Crystal Moran, Billy Moffett, Daniel Moffett, Jr.; one great-grandchild, Anna Carroll Kirby. Visitation will be Jan. 10 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. with prayers at 7 p.m. at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, La Plata. Services will be Jan. 11 at St. Mary's Bryantown Catholic Church beginning at 12 noon. The Rev. Joseph Klinestubber will officiate. Burial will take place in the Church Cemetery. Pallbearers, will be Tommy Brown, Tom Brown, Jr., Danny Moffett, Billy Moffett, Tim Kirby, and Tony Rose, Jr. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, Va. 23058-5216. Arrangements are being handled by Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, La Plata.
