Jim Baldwin Bock, 85, of Newburg Jim Baldwin Bock, 85, of Newburg died Jan. 4, 2003, at Civista Medical Center, La Plata. He was a real estate developer. He was founder of County First Bank and was a member of Charles County Library Board. He held a business administration degree from Sam Houston State College, Huntsville, Texas. Mr. Bock was a World War II Navy Veteran. He served 29 years with the Navy Reserve as a fighter pilot. Born Jan 1, 1918, in Huntsville, Texas, he was the son of the late William Otto Bock and the late Rebecca Baldwin Bock. He is survived by her wife, Dorothy Evans Bock of Newburg; sons, John Edward Bock of Willis, Texas, Jim Baldwin Bock Jr. of Annandale, Va.; daughters, Becky Bock Weston and Bonnie Kennedy, both of La Plata, and Laura Blonk of Austin, Texas; sister, Mildred Houchin of Kansas; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Jan. 9 at Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, La Plata, where services will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will take place at sea at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association. Arrangements are being handled by Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, La Plata.
