James Farley Thompson

James Farley Thompson, 62, of Newburg died Aug. 21, 2002, at his home. He was a meat cutter with Grand Union and enjoyed the water. He enjoyed country music, especially bluegrass, and NASCAR. Born Sept. 15, 1939, In Chapitco, he was the son of the late Philip Thompson and the late Alice Thompson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph R. Thompson. He is survived by his son, Brian Thompson; granddaughter, Ann Marie Thompson; brothers, Philip L. Thompson and William E. Thompson; and sisters, Carolyn A. Trossbach and Mary H. Murphy. Services were held Aug.27 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Newport. The Rev.Frederick MacIntyre officiated. Burial took place at St. Mary's, Newport Cemetery, Charlotte Hall. Pallbearers were his nephews, James F. Murphy Jr., Philip L. Thompson Jr., William D. Thompson, William E. Thompson Jr., Richard B. Thompson and John D. Thompson. Arrangements are being handled by Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, La Plata.
