George Anthony Gillott, 76 of Lexington Park, MD died on September 6, 2002 at the Bayside Care Center, Lexington Park, MD.

He was born on June 13, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY the son of the late John Jack and Marie Babula Gillott.

In 1940 Mr. Gillott entered the United States Navy, which he faithfully served his country until 1961. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal 5th Award; National Defense Service Medal; WW II Victory Medal and the American Theatre Medal. In 1961 he transferred to the Fleet Reserve until 1965. After his military career he went on to work for Grumman Northrop Aerospace, as a Budget Analyst.

On December 30, 1946 he married Marion Hafner in Brooklyn, NY. He was of the Catholic Faith, A member of the Fleet Reserve Branch # 93 of Patuxent River, MD, VFW Lodge # 2632 California, MD and also a member of the FOP, Great Mills, MD. Among his hobbies, he enjoyed woodworking.

In addition to his wife two daughters, Barbara Stanley of Lexington Park, MD and Patricia Fiorelli, of Sound Beach, NY, one son, Thomas Gillott of Decatur, GA. survive him. Five grandchildren also survive. A sister Evelyn Babera preceded him in death.

Friends may call on Tuesday, September 10, 2002 from 6:00 ? 7:00 pm at the Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A. 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD with prayers offered at 7:00 pm by the Reverend Lowell Schutze, followed by a memorial service conducted by Fleet Reserve Branch #93 of Patuxent River, MD. Interment will be private.
