Ella May Hammond, 91 of Colton?s Point, MD died on November 27, 2002 at her residence. Born on May 4, 1911 in St. Louis, Mo the daughter of the late John M. and Matilda Fisher Dillinger. Mrs. Hammond spent her summers in St. Mary?s County for 66 years, in 1989 moving from Baltimore she made it her permanent residence. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, in Avenue, MD. Three children, Ella May Russell of Abell, MD, Anita Marie Poe-Johnson of Salisbury, MD and Albert S. Hammond, Jr. of Henderson, NC, survive her. Six grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive. In addition to her parents her husband Albert Sydney Hammond, three sisters, Matilda Kundrat, Mabel Reitz and Mary Harding and two brothers, Harry and John Dillenger, Jr. preceded her in death The family will receive friends on Friday November 29, 2002 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A. 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD where a prayers will be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 30, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Angels Catholic Church, 21340 Colton?s Point Road, Avenue, MD. The Reverend Msgr. John Brady will be the celebrant. Interment will be on December 3, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Brooklyn,, MD. Memorial contributions may be made to the 7th District Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 7, Avenue, MD 20609 and/or Health Share of St. Mary?s, P.O. Box 1208, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
