Dorothy “Dottie”, L. Moore, 76, of Silver Spring, Md. died September 27, 2002 at the Montgomery Hospice Casey House. She was the highest ranking woman in her class earning a BS in accounting from Ben Franklin University in 1948. After working as a tax accountant for C&P Telephone Company for 38 years, she retired in 1981. Since retiring, she lived in Leisure World and enjoyed traveling, cards, puzzles, game shows, Church and helping others. Born Novemeber 16, 1925 in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Elbert and Annie Moore. She was preceded in death by her brother, Harvey Moore. She is survived by her sisters; Florence Green of Forestville, Edith Hedges of Waldorf, Elsie Clark of Rockville; brother, Elbert Moore, Jr. of Gaithersburg; sister-in-law Leighoda Moore of Haymarket; numerous relatives and friends. She was a special Aunt to V.C. Hedges, Jr. of Hollywood, Calif. and Barbara and David McDonell of Waldorf, Md. Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, La Plata.
