CALIFORNIA, Md. -- We are receiving reports that a motor vehicle caught fire after crashing into a fence this evening.

At approximately 10:47 p.m. on October 8, first responders were called to the scene in the 23000 block of Patuxent Boulevard for reports of a vehicle that had gone off the road and was in flames.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered the vehicle which had struck a fence and was fully engulfed in flames.

The one female occupant who was in the vehicle was able to self-extricate from the vehicle and appears to have suffered minor burns to her body. She is being examined by EMS on the scene to determine if she will need to be hospitalized.

The fire departments on the scene were able to extinguish the blaze in approximately 15 minutes.

This is a developing story. We will continue to provide additional updates as they become available.
