Jaymi Sterling Starts New Job in Anne Arundel County

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Former St. Mary's County Deputy State’s Attorney Jaymi Sterling has a brand new job. Two weeks ago, Sterling resigned her position in St. Mary's County claiming she was demoted after uncovering "questionable financial and personnel practices" in the office.

Today, the Anne Arundel County State's Attorney's Office announced that Sterling joined their office as an Assistant State's Attorney.

Neither Sterling or her boss, St. Mary's County State's Attorney Richard Fritz, responded to requests for interviews about her resignation. Attempts to request any public records related to Ms. Sterling's allegations were denied due to the fact they contained private personnel information.

Sterling's father, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, congratulated her on her new position. and shared photos of the swearing in on Facebook. "Yumi and I are very proud parents today. Our daughter, Jaymi, was sworn in as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Anne Arundel County after serving three years with Frederick County and nine years with St. Mary’s County. Congratulations!"
