"Opioid addiction is an illness, not a character flaw. It has claimed the lives of more than 70 people in Calvert County since 2016, 19 so far this year, devastating families and affecting us all. Vaping may offer a gateway to nicotine addiction or worse for our youth. Come explore these topics with your family; then learn more from health care professionals and resource service providers who will be on site to answer your prevention and recovery questions." stated Keith Pardieck, Chair of the Twin Beach Opioid Abuse Awareness Committee and Councilmember of the Town of Chesapeake Beach.

The Twin Beach Opioid Abuse Awareness Committee, a joint effort between the Town of Chesapeake Beach and the Town of North Beach, is committed to raising awareness of opioid drug addition in the neighboring communities. The Twin Beach Opioid Abuse Awareness Committee facilitates awareness of existing assistance programs to ensure community access to preventing information and the appropriate resources for those in need. The Twin Beach Opioid Abuse Awareness Committee is chaired by Town of Chesapeake Beach Councilman Keith Pardieck and co-chaired by Cheryl Greene.
