Nichols seeks District 29C House seat

Lexington Park, MD - Democrat Julia Nichols is running for Maryland House of Delegates in District 29C, which includes portions of Southern Calvert and Central St. Mary’s counties. This is Nichols first foray into politics. Nichols grew up in a military family and her parents always emphasized education as the key to success. After going to college and graduate school, Nichols got married and later moved to St. Mary’s County with her husband, who works at Naval Air Station Patuxent River. The couple has three children.

Part of Nichols’ involvement in the community has included education-related endeavors—helping establish a public charter school in St. Mary’s County and founding the Southern Maryland Youth Orchestra and Choir.

Nichols has been endorsed by several education groups, including the Maryland State Education Association, Moms Demand Action, the National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League (NARAL) Political Action Committee (PAC), the Maryland chapter of the American Federation of Labor-Congress of Industrial Organizations (AF of L-CIO), the Sierra Club and the Maryland National Organization of Women PAC.

Recently Julia Nichols visited offices and studio to talk about her campaign for the Maryland legislature. Above is a portion of the discussion.
