Early Voting and Voter Registration Ends Today!

Lexington Park, MD - Early voting comes to an end this evening, and with several tight races in all three Southern Maryland counties, registered voters planning on exercising their right need to do so before 7 p.m. Nov. 1.

Voter turnout numbers have been posted by the Maryland Board of Elections through the first six days, as of the writing of this article. In Charles County—11,506 or 10.26 percent; in Calvert—6,167 or 9.45 percent; and in St. Mary’s—6,957 or 9.85percent of eligible active voters have come out early. 

The early voting locations by county are Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department in St. Mary’s County, the Community Resource Center (the old library across from the post office in Prince Frederick) for Calvert County, and both the La Plata Firehouse and the Gleneagles Neighborhood Center in Charles County.

Also ending at the end of the day is voter registration for the 2018 Gubernatorial Election. Eligible citizens can register to vote at any of these locations:
Your local board of elections;
The State Board of Elections;
The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene;
The Department of Social Services;
The Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA);
Offices on Aging;
The MTA Paratransit Certification Office;
All public institutions of higher education;
Recruitment offices of the U.S. Armed Forces;
Marriage license offices; and
Offices for students with disabilities at all Maryland colleges and universities.
