Clark confident center’s third building is on track

Lexington Park, MD - Delegate Jerry Clark, who is seeking a full four-year term representing the portions a Calvert and St. Mary’s counties that comprise District 29C, believes a significant capital project that was delayed last year is back in the pipeline. During a recent interview at offices and studio, the Republican lawmaker expressed confidence that the proposed third building for the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center is back on track and has the total support of the leadership in Annapolis.

On the issue of the state’s role in making sure Maryland’s public schools are safe for students, teachers and administrators, Clark affirms that oversight and funding are the primary responsibilities in aiding jurisdictions seeking to provide a better environment for learning.

As to why he should be returned to Annapolis, Clark stated, “I understand how the system works. I understand payrolls, I understand employees. Rather than sit back and criticize, I approach the issues with common sense.”

Clark also urged voters to elect more Republicans to the General Assembly “to try and equalize” the party structure in Annapolis. Clark’s comments can be heard in the entirety on the video.
