UPDATE - Two injured in single-vehicle crash


Lexington Park, MD - On Wednesday evening, Oct. 21 at approximately 7:05 p.m., a call was placed to 911 communications center that there had been a single-vehicle crash in the area of Park Hall Road, near Spring Ridge Middle School in St. Mary’s County.

Maryland State Police, as well as the St. Mary's County Sheriff’s Office, Ridge Volunteer Rescue Squad, Bay District Volunteer Fire Department and Lexington Park Volunteer Rescue Squad responded to the scene and found a red sport utility vehicle down a steep ravine, approximately 500 feet off the roadway. This was the only vehicle involved.

Volunteers from the fire department initiated extrication of one person from the vehicle and also provided patient care. Two were transported to Med Star St. Mary's Hospital and one person signed a refusal to be transported.

At this time, it is unclear what caused the vehicle to end up in the ravine.

At 7:05 p.m. a serious motor vehicle crash was reported on Three Notch Road near Spring Ridge Middle School in Lexington Park. Emergency crews are en route.
