Former president visits local Starbucks

Prince Frederick, MD  - While in Southern Maryland for a pricey political fundraiser, Former President Bill Clinton paid a visit to a local coffee shop. The manager of the Prince Frederick Starbucks in the Chapline Shopping Center verified with The BayNet rumors that the former president was indeed in the local shop Monday afternoon, Oct. 19 around 3:30 p.m.

Sherry, the manager (she asked that we not publish her last name) said Clinton didn’t order personally but rather had a Secret Service agent do it for him.

“He shook hands and wished everybody the best,” said Sherry, who explained there were only a few customers in the store at the time. Clinton also shook hands with two employees. “The customers got a little excited,” said Sherry, who added the former president and his entourage left after 10 minutes.

According to a report in the Washington Post, Clinton was in Calvert County to attend a fundraiser for his wife, Presidential Candidate Hilary Clinton, at the Chesapeake Beach home of Maryland Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller Jr. The former president was billed as a “special guest” at the fundraiser. The minimum contribution for attendees was $1,000, press reports indicated.

According to Sherry, none of her employees took any pictures of Clinton during the exchange but she believes a customer videoed the former president's visit.
