Dr. Lipoff: Johns Hopkins Children’s Center

The Foundation 4 Heroes made a special trip up to Johns Hopkins Children’s Center on Tuesday to visit the patients. Patients’ ages vary and it is difficult to see so many of our children battling this disease you would have thought we would have an answer to by now. Can get a rover on Mars but not solve diseases in our country. Sad.

The hospital has been caring for children for over 100 years. The staff is wonderful. I heard that from current patient’s parents and some who have had children cared for years ago. That’s a good reputation.

This trip was a little special because it was our first time bringing the Hero Hummer to Baltimore, we added Wonder Woman to our team of caring parents and Under Armour donated a case of superhero shirts to give out.

We were told the kids were excited to see the Hummer parked below and were yelling from their windows, but they were certainly psyched to receive their new UA shirts.

Although the visit was short, playing corn hole, Connect Four, taking pictures and talking to patients and parents are memories we can’t forget. It makes you appreciate how lucky most of us are to have healthy children, but also reinforces the necessity of inspiring those who are less fortunate.

If you have ever thought of donating to our nonprofit organization we found a new, easy way to do it. Just start linking into Amazon with this address:

When you make any of your purchases a small portion will be donated to us. It’s not much but if more people donate and use this link we will be able to continue visiting children that need us. Please share with your friends, co-workers, enemies, classmates and family. We can all come together for a good cause.

Special thanks to Amanda and Annie for helping set up this super fun trip to Johns Hopkins Children Center. Also to ARBA Graphics, Southern Maryland Wraps, Ace Upholstery and Hollyrock Customs for getting the Hero Hummer in tip-top shape for the kids.

Is your company looking to add an organization to their list of nonprofits to donate to? Why not one that started in your back, and front yards, of Southern Maryland?
