St. Mary's County League of Women Voters to Host Candidate Forums

A Candidates’ Forum featuring candidates for State Senator, State Delegates of Districts 29A, 29B, and 29C, State’s Attorney, and Board of Education is scheduled for Monday evening, October 18, at the Leonardtown High School auditorium.  Candidates for President and the four Districts of the St. Mary’s County Board of Commissioners have been invited to a second forum scheduled Monday evening, October 25.

Jointly sponsored by the League of Women Voters of St. Mary’s County, the NAACP, St. Mary’s Branch, and the Center for the Study of Democracy at St. Mary’s College of Maryland, candidates for the positions listed have been invited to participate in the question and answer portion of the program.

All candidates on the general election ballot are invited to “meet and greet” the public and to offer campaign literature in the lobby of the auditorium beginning at 6:00 p.m. The question-and-answer portions will begin at 6:30.  This format provides an opportunity for citizens to submit questions pertinent to the various offices either during the program or in advance by emailing  I
