New Principal At Great Mills, New Energy Manager at School Board

Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Michael J. Martirano, has announced the administrative appointments  made  by  the  Board  of Education at its meeting of September 27.

The Board appointed Ms. Marian Steinbach to the position of 12-month assistant principal at Great Mills High School. She most recently served as the supervisor of instruction for mathematics in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction after teaching mathematics at Great Mills High School for 18 years.  Ms. Steinbach earned her Master of Liberal Arts degree from John Hopkins University and her Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics from Goucher College.

Additionally, the Board named Ms. Loretta Durdock as energy manager in the Division of Supporting Services.  Ms. Durdock comes to the school system from ACRA Control, Inc., where she served as an operations manager/quality management representative.  Her experience also includes serving as a senior infrastructure analyst, senior facilities project administrator, senior key account engineer, and licensing engineer.  Ms. Durdock is a graduate of North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering.

These appointments become effective immediately.
