Timothy K. Cameron Appointed as Director of Public Safety by St. Mary's County Commissioners

"We are very pleased to have Mr. Cameron join our executive team as Public Safety Director," stated Mr. George G. Forrest, County Administrator. "His extensive knowledge and experience will continue to be an asset for our community in his new role, and we look forward to his leadership in the organization and management of services in the Department of Public Safety."
Mr. Cameron has completed extensive course work and training in Law Enforcement and Public Safety at various institutions and agencies around the Country. He holds a certificate of completion in the Criminal Justice Program from the College of Southern Maryland and is completing course work at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland, to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Management.
Mr. Cameron is highly respected in the community as evidenced by the myriad of letters of commendation and appreciation he has received since his employment with the St. Mary’s County Office of the Sheriff began in 1980. He has been recognized with awards from the St. Mary’s County Office of the Sheriff, State’s Attorney for St. Mary’s County, Fraternal Order of Police, Maryland Committee for Safety Belt Use, and the District Attorney for San Diego, California.
