On Saturday, October 22, 2005, TFC J. Linger was patrolling northbound Route 5 prior to Lockes Hills Road, Mechanicsville when he observed the driver to suddenly apply  the brakes and make a right turn without using a turn signal or allowing enough distance to signal his intention to turn.

The vehicle was stopped and contact made with the driver and passenger.  An odor of burnt marijuana was detected emitting from the vehicle.  Both subjects were told to exit the vehicle.

As the passenger, 17 year old male, exited the vehicle a cellophane bag containing crack cocaine was observed in-between the passenger seat and passenger door.  The 17 year old was arrested, charged with possession of cocaine and possession of paraphernalia and released into the custody of his parents.

The driver was released with no criminal charges.
