The Ridge Volunteer Fire Department's Carnival Makes A Return

RIDGE, Md. - There’s no need to worry if you missed the Ridge Carnival this past weekend because there are still four more days of fun! The festivities continue on Thursday, Sept. 16, and runs through Sunday.

There are plenty of rides to enjoy for all ages, and tons of carnival games to play. With nightly bicycle giveaways and raffles for $500 and $1000, there’s plenty of opportunities to win. All around family fun or just for hanging out with friends, there is something for everyone and you don’t have to be a kid to enjoy it!

The carnival's chairman, Mike Ridgell, says that “The carnival has two weekends of fun and enjoyment for everyone in the area. I think the carnival is a great event for our community because everyone gets to see each other at the same place.”

He added that it is a great feeling when he walks around the carnival grounds and sees everyone laughing and catching up with each other. “My favorite is watching all the kids, youth, and adults with that large smile on their face, building memories that I myself have.”

In addition to the carnival’s rides, there are several classic carnival food options such as fried dough, hamburgers, and hotdogs!

Ridgell is grateful for the effort from the community, saying “It takes a lot of help from my committee, the fire department and auxiliary, our community, and friends to put on a carnival. I appreciate every one of them for their time.”
