White House Resumes Public Tours

  • By

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The White House announced Tuesday that public tours will resume on Saturday, September 12.  The President suspended tours back in early March due to the COVID-19 virus.

Several new policies were put into place to prevent the spread of the COVID virus. Previously tours were available five days a week, now tours will only be conducted on Friday and Saturday. Hours are limited as well. Tours will only take place between 8 am and 11 am.

The number of guests is limited to 18% of normal capacity.

The White House requires all guests over the age of 2 to wear a face mask. Social distancing dots will be placed on the ground to ensure visitors maintain a safe distance during their visits.

Personnel from the National Park Service, Secret Service, and Visitors Office staff are also required to wear face coverings and gloves. Tour personnel will encourage social distancing during the tours.

The White House said it will provide hand sanitizer at various locations throughout the tours.
