WALDORF, Md. - Former Charles County Volunteer EMS Chief Guy Yesse received a long-overdue retirement sendoff last week.

In addition to serving citizens of Charles County, Yesse has a long history of military service. MSgt Yesse retired from active duty the United States Airforce after thirty-three years of service to his country.

He retired at the beginning of July, but his ceremony was delayed due to COVID-19.

Yesse said, "I am very proud to have served 33 years, but its the love of my family and friends that made everyday and every deployment worth it in my heart and mind. I was also very honored to have friends from my military past in attendance."

He thanked colleagues for attending the ceremony and reserved a special thank you for his wife. "Thank you to my much better half Joanna Pritchard Yesse!"

His colleagues at Charles County Volunteer Fire and EMA saluted him on a job well done and shared pictures from his retirement ceremony. "On behalf of all Charles County Volunteer Fire and EMS Officers and Members, we salute Chief Guy Yesse for his military service to his country and hopeful return to Charles County."
