Calvert County, MD -- The Calvert County Sheriff's department has made an arrest in a string of vehicle break-ins.

The thefts happened between August 27 and 29 in several neighborhoods near Little Cove Point Road in Lusby and in the Mount Harmony area of Owings.

When detectives with the Criminal Investigations Bureau (CIB) canvassed neighborhoods, they found additional victims. One of the victims reported the theft of a unique silver dollar in a plastic case.

A few nights later, Calvert County Officers spotted a suspicious man with a backpack riding a bicycle on Little Cove Point Road and stopped him.

The person stopped knew who was responsible for the break-ins and search warrants were executed.

When police made contact with suspect Mark Allen Green, 27 of Owings, stolen property was recovered. Among the property, the unique silver dollar coin in the plastic case along with clothing worn during the burglaries.

Green was placed under arrest and charged with numerous counts of Burglary and Theft. Further investigation revealed, Green’s primary residence is in the Mount Harmony area of Owings, MD, within walking distance of an additional neighborhood that recently reported a series of thefts from unlocked vehicles.

Green is suspected to be involved in those crimes as well.
