Rash of car break-ins in Calvert County

Calvert County, MD -- It's always a good idea to lock your vehicle and to refrain from leaving anything of value in it, especially where someone can spot it through a window. A recent series of incidents in Calvert County really drive home that point.

On August 29, 2019 Deputy Deleon responded to Park Chesapeake Drive in Lusby for the report of a theft. The complainant advised sometime between August 8th at 10:00 PM and August 29th at 7:00 AM an unknown suspect(s) stole loose change from their vehicles.

On August 26, 2019 Deputy Barger responded to Sailboat Lane in Lusby for the report of a theft. The complainant advised her wallet was stolen from her vehicle on August 24th around 5:00 PM while she was at Giant in Lusby. The estimated value of stolen property is $274.

On September 1, 2019 Deputy Bowlan responded to Harrison Blvd in Chesapeake Beach for the report of tampering. The complainant advised an unknown suspect(s) entered his vehicle and rummaged through the glove box and cup holders. Nothing of value was stolen.

On September 1, 2019 Deputy Bowlan responded to Harrison Blvd in Chesapeake Beach for the report of a theft. The complainant advised sometime between August 31st at 8:15 PM and September 1st at 3:10 AM an unknown suspect(s) rummaged through his vehicle. Nothing of value was stolen.

On September 1, 2019 Deputy E. Payne responded to Harrison Blvd in Chesapeake Beach for the report of a theft. The complainant advised an unknown suspect(s) stole her black Coach backpack from her vehicle and rummaged through her glove box and center console.

Deputy Payne also responded to Harrison Court for the report of a theft. The complainants advised an unknown suspect(s) rummaged through both of their glove boxes and center consoles. A pair of Ray Ban sunglasses and $10 in change were taken from one of the vehicles. 

A second person on Harrison Court reported that an unknown suspect(s) rummaged through both of his vehicle and stole an unknown amount of change from one of them.

There was yet another incident that day on Harrison Blvd in Chesapeake Beach. The complainants advised three of their vehicles were rummaged through. A pair of sterling silver earrings and an unknown amount of change was taken from one vehicle and a pair of Quay sunglasses was taken from another vehicle. There were three additional incidents in Chesapeake Beach that day where cars were rummaged through, but nothing of value was taken.
