Leonardtown, MD --  Apparently, a customer at the Leonardtown Food Lion couldn't do without his cigarettes.  When he came up short at checkout, he grabbed his cigarettes and made a break for it.

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is now trying to identify the guy. On Saturday, August. 3, around 7:40 pm, the man pictured in the photo below did some shopping at the Food Lion grocery store in Leonardtown and proceeded to the checkout.

He was last seen getting into a white Ford hatchback with front-end damage. Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect or this incident is asked to call Deputy Benjamin Raley at 301-475-4200, ext. *8076 or email . Case # 44228-19
