Coastal flood watch issued for St. Mary's County

St. Mary's County, MD -- A coastal flood watch is in effect from Saturday afternoon through late Saturday night for the shoreline in St. Mary's County. 

* TIDAL DEPARTURE...Forecast to rise to between one and a half to two feet above normal by Saturday afternoon.

* TIMING...Moderate flooding possible around the time of high tide Saturday night. High tide Saturday night at Point Lookout is at 9:44 PM. High tide at Coltons Point Saturday night is at 10:55PM. High tide at Piney Point Saturday night is at 10:19 PM.

* IMPACTS...Up to one foot of inundation above ground level is possible. At 3.5 feet, water covers roads on Saint George Island, is in yards, and is approaching structures. To the east, inundation is occurring at multiple marinas off St.
Mary`s River, Smith Creek, and Jutland Creek.
