Calvert County deputies responded to over 1500 calls last week

Calvert County, MD -- It was a busy week for the Calvert County Sheriff's Office. Eight deputies responded to 1,544 calls for service throughout the area including multiple thefts from vehicles.

Among the calls for the week of September 2 – 8 :

Damaged Property: 19-51643

Theft: 19-51486
On September 3, 2019 Deputy Ostazeski responded to Beech Drive in Lusby for the report of a theft. The complainant advised sometime between August 30th at 4:00 PM and September 3rd at 10:00 AM an unknown suspect(s) stole several tools from a truck parked in his driveway. The estimated value of stolen property is $9,191.50.


Theft: 19-51529
On September 3, 2019 Deputy Savick responded to Ponds Wood Road in Huntingtown for the report of a theft. The complainant advised an unknown suspect(s) broke into the saddle bags on his Harley Davidson and stole the items that were inside of them. He also advised he believes the suspect tampered with the belt on the bike, causing it to break. The estimated value of stolen and damaged property is $950.


Theft: 19-52562
On September 8, 2019 Deputy Gott responded to Epworth Court in Solomons for the report of a theft. The complainant advised sometime between August 26th and September 7th at 3:00 PM an unknown suspect(s) stole his handicap placard from his vehicle. The estimated value of stolen property is $20.


Theft: 19-52620
On September 8, 2019 Deputy Gott responded to K Dock at Calvert Marina in Dowell for the report of a theft. The complainant advised sometime between September 5th and September 8th at 1:49 PM an unknown suspect(s) stole his registration plates from his vehicle. The estimated value of stolen property is $20.


ARRESTS:
On September 4, 2019 Deputy Hardesty conducted a traffic stop on S. Solomons Island Road at Cove Point Road in Lusby. The driver and passenger were asked to exit the vehicle and a search was conducted which resulted in a marijuana grinder, marijuana flakes and seeds, a glass pipe with suspected crack residue inside, a cigarette wrapper that contained a crystal white powder and other items of paraphernalia. The passenger, Margaret Ann Hale (24), was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where she was charged with CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana and CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia.

On September 4, 2019 Deputy Cress was flagged down by a concerned citizen who advised a female was asleep inside a vehicle in a parking lot on Chesapeake Avenue in North Beach. Deputy Cress made contact with the female who identified herself as Daisy Sherita Landrew (35). Calvert Emergency Communications advised Landrew had an active warrant through Virginia. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center. A search of her person revealed a plastic baggie containing suspected marijuana. Landrew was served her warrant and charged with Possession of Contraband in a Place of Confinement.

On September 5, 2019 Deputy Barger responded to Dollar Tree in Prince Frederick for the report of a male passed out in the store. Upon arrival he observed Travis Demetrius Harris (30) lying on the floor receiving medical attention. Once Harris was awake he became agitated which began drawing the attention of customers in the store. Harris was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with Intoxicated Public Disturbance.
