New Update - Fire involving motor homes and a pick up truck

Update 8:36 p.m.

On Tuesday, September 8, 2015 The Maryland State Fire Marshal concluded that no one was living in the motor home that was on fire at the address of 5325 Mackall Road, St. Leonard. 

In addition nobody was injured as a result of the fire, the fire began in the mobile home and spread to the Ford F-350 that was attached to a mobile home. The area where the fire started was the air conditioning unit, and the preliminary cause was electrical.   

Responding fire departments include Saint Leonard VFD, Prince Fredrick VFD, Huntingtown VFD, Benedict VFD, and Solomons VFD.

The fire resulted in $65,000 in damages structurally, it took 40 fire fighters to fight the fire and control it, control time was 10 minutes.

Update 3:32 p.m.

On Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at approximately 1:25 pm, there was a report of a motor home on fire near building.

As units arrived on the scene they found two motor homes and a pickup truck on fire.  One motor home was fully involved and damage to other motor and truck.

The fire investigator has been requested to do a follow up on the situation.

No one was injured.

Sept. 8, 1:40 p.m.

There has been a reported fire on Mackall Road in St Leonard involving two motor homes and a pick up truck with extension to a building. Use caution in the area. More information as it becomes available.
