Chaptico church calls new rector

The vestry of historic Christ Episcopal Church, Chaptico, Md., has called The Rev. Christopher D. Jubinski to be its next rector.  Rev. Jubinski will join the parish Oct. 6, 2015, and celebrate his first worship services there on Sunday, Oct. 11, at 8 and 10:30 a.m.

Rev. Jubinski has been assisting priest at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, in Easton, Md.  He was formerly rector of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Centreville, Md., and also served in clergy assignments with congregations in Ridley Park, Pa., Santa Paula, CA., and Alexandria, VA.

Rev. Jubinski is a graduate of the General Theological Seminary of the Episcopal Church in New York City, where he was president of his senior class.
Christ Church’s congregation traces its roots to 1640.  Its white-steepled church building, built in 1736, is on the National Register of Historic Places and is a local landmark.  The church building, cemetery, and the village of Chaptico survived a rampage by British soldiers during the War of 1812.  The church is open daily to visitors during daylight hours.
