Noodles & Company takes a culinary trip around the world

Noodles, in all their varieties, could be considered a universal food. They are staples in Asia, Europe and America. Noodles and Company, a national restaurant chain, has taken that thought and run with it. The company, which was founded on 1995 by Aaron Kennedy, has grown to more than 300 locations and more than $300 million in sales. The company went public earlier this year.

Noodles and Company now has a Southern Maryland location with the recent opening of a location in the new Lexington Village Shopping Center on Route 235 in Lexington Park.

According to Wikipedia, the online encyclopedia, “Food critics began identifying it as the best fast-food restaurant in their respective cities and it won awards for fast-growth, healthy food and being family friendly.”

Noodles and Company offers a wide variety of menu options with those Asian, Mediterranean and American influences.

Mediterranean items include Penne Rosa, Pesto Cavatappi, Pasta Fresca and Whole Grain Tuscan Linguine.

Asian items include Japanese Pan Noodles, Pad Thai, Bangkok Curry and Indonesian Sauté.

And the American version of the noddle rolls out as Wisconsin Mac and Cheese, Steak Stroganoff and the favorite Spaghetti and Meatballs.

With the Noodles and Pasta dishes you can get a side soup or salad for just $1 more. Side soups include Chicken Noodle, Thai Curry and Tomato Basil Bisque. Side salads include tossed, Caesar and tomato cucumber. Full sized salads and soups are also available.

The menu also includes appetizers and sandwiches.

Drinks include a soda machine that dispenses 80 different flavors. Of course tea, beer and wine are also available.
