The Arc of Southern Maryland Selects New Recruiter

The Arc of Southern Maryland announces Kristina Moore, of Great Mills as its new human resources recruiter. Moore brings more than three years of human resource experience to the position. A graduate of the University of North Carolina, Pembroke, Moore earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and got her start in human resources as a manager trainee working for a car rental company.

Moore moved from North Carolina to Morgantown, W. Va., and served for more than two years at the Waterfront Place Hotel in its human resources office, first as the human resources assistant and ending her tenure as the human resources manager.

During her tenure at the hotel, Moore developed supervisor and management training programs, provided Occupational Safety and Health Administration training to management and staff, and served as a recruiter at job fairs. "One of the things I like most about my job is watching someone I helped hire grow professionally and know that I picked the right person for the job," said Moore when asked about the challenges and rewards of human resources. "In human resources, it is important to be a leader, serve as a bridge between employees and management and help make effective changes that enhance the work environment for the organization."
