Frank Marquart, President of the Federal Order of Police, Great Mills (Lodge 7) told The Bay Net today that the lodge’s membership completed voting for this year’s candidate endorsements for the General Election.

Along with choosing Republican Tim Cameron over sitting Democrat Sheriff Dave Zylak, the association selected the endorse the following candidates for local races:

County Commissioner President: Jackie Russell (D)

County Commissioner district 1 – Kenny Dement (R)

County Commissioner district 2 – Tom Mattingly (D)

County Commissioner district 3 – too close to call (lodge rules call for a candidate to gain 60 percent of the vote to get the endorsement)

County Commissioner district 4 – Dan Raley (D)

Maryland Senate district 29 – Roy Dyson (D)

St. Mary’s State’s Attorney – Richard Fritz (R)

Marquart told The Bay the elections are greatly anticipated, and the lodge is motivated and looking forward to a great election.
