Spat with Wife Leads to Gun Shots

On Sept. 24 at 8:58 p.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to the 600 block of Post Office Road in Waldorf for the report of the sound of gunshots.

Upon arrival, Officer J. Burroughs found Kevin Daniel Kiley, 25, of Waldorf, and Kiley's wife in a parking lot. They told the officer they had heard gunshots in the area of the St. Charles lake but the couple was unable to provide further information.

Investigation revealed Kiley was in possession of a handgun and had fired the gun during an argument with his wife. Officer Burroughs arrested Kiley and charged him with possessing a concealed deadly weapon, handgun violations and disturbing the public peace. He is being held at the Charles County Detention Center on $25,000 bond.

Driver Wouldn’t Stop for Signs or Police

On Sept. 25 at 1:37 p.m., Officer T. Hemsley observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Billingsley Road and St. Charles Parkway in Waldorf.

The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the driver failed to stop until he reached his residence on Brightwell Court in Waldorf.

Officer Hemsley identified the driver as Mark Thomas Anderson, 32, and issued him traffic citations for failure to stop at a stop sign and attempting to elude police.
