Police Investigating Racist Graffiti At Calvert High School Football Field

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — After a post from the Calvert County Peaceful Resistance in Southern Maryland(PRISM) was shared nearly 1,000 times since last night, police are now investigating an incident of racism at Calvert High School.

The pictures, depicting racist graffiti on the Calvert High School football field, have led the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office to say they are now “investigating all avenues of this crime.”

The original post stated that a “15-year-old black young man came across [the vandalism] as he came to school to practice.”

WARNING: RACIST LANGUAGE CONTAINED IN BELOW POST IMAGES

At this time, it is unconfirmed what time the vandalism likely happened or was discovered.

Many comments on the post express how disappointed, unhappy, or in some cases, angry people are to see this behavior in their community.

One early comment came from Calvert County Commissioner Mike Hart, who called the act “absolutely unacceptable.”

Anyone with details regarding the incident has been asked to contact detective D. Naughton at dean.naughton@calvertcountymd.gov

This is still a developing story. We will be providing updates as we receive more information.
