Advisory: There are numerous roads flooded in St. Mary's county with trees and power lines down. The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office is asking all residents that don't need to be out on the roadways to please stay home and off the roads.

St. Mary’s County Department of Emergency Services urges citizens to stay at home and do not travel at this time. There are multiple road closures due to flooding throughout Southern Maryland.

At 8:47 AM, emergency management reported flash flooding in numerous locations in Saint Mary`s County, with reports of over 6 to 7 inches of rain already having occurred. Rain of one to two inches is expected in the next hour. Flash flooding is already occurring and will continue. The stream gauge on Saint Marys River at Great Mills is above moderate flood, still rising, and at the highest level recorded since Irene in 2011.

One to two feet of inundation above ground level in low lying areas due to tidal flooding on shoreline in St. Marys County. Until 3 AM EDT Wednesday, especially around the time on high tide.
