Annapolis, MD --  Annapolis Police managed to recover a stolen vehicle but not without some effort. The suspect kept driving away.

The initial report came just before 9 a.m. on Monday. A 2003 Hyundai was stolen from the 1400 block of Hunting Wood Road sometime between Sunday and Monday morning. The vehicle had been left unlocked, possibly with the keys inside.

Monday night around 8 p.m., police saw the vehicle driving on Route 665 and pulled the driver over. The driver initially stopped, but then took off again, eastbound on Rout 50. Police did not pursue the vehicle.

Later, they found it driving down Farragut Road heading towards Cedar Park Road. Officers attempted to keep their eyes on the vehicle without pursuing it and last saw it driving on Glenwood Street heading towards Clay Street.

They checked the area and discovered the abandoned car in the 100 block of New Vernon Street.
