St. Mary’s College of Maryland named Best College Value

St. Mary's City, MD -- St. Mary’s College of Maryland was chosen by Kiplinger’s Personal Finance as one of the top 500 college values in the country, ranking 143 out of 500.

St. Mary's ranked 29 in the out-of-state rankings and 48 in the in-state rankings. Kiplingler's uses a variety of factors to calculate the rankings including admission rate, the percentage of students who return for sophomore year, the student-faculty ratio and four-year graduation rate, tuition and board costs, available financial aid, and average debt at graduation.

St. Mary's estimated in-state costs come to $28,808 per year, while the estimated out-of-state cost is $44,570. The average debt at graduation is $21,911. The four-year graduation rate is 70%.

This isn't the only award for the college this year, St. Mary’s College was also recently recognized as a 2019-20 College of Distinction, a 2018 Tree Campus USA by the Arbor Day Foundation, and as an Individual Conference Champion in the 2018-19 College and University Green Power Challenge by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
