Quick-thinking homeowner puts out fire

Nanjemoy, MD -- Quick thinking by a homeowner on Wednesday afternoon saved her home from fire.

Fire officials say a fire broke out around 4:40 p.m. in the bedroom of a home on Neighbors Place in Nanjemoy. 

The homeowner used a fire extinguisher to put out the flames in under two minutes and everything was under control by the time the fire department arrived.

The estimated damage to the structure is $1500 along with $500 damage to property, but thankfully no one was injured. The family is being assisted by friends and neighbors.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
