Lexington Park, MD --  A motorized shopping cart might not be the best vehicle to help yourself to, since anyone who's ever worked in a big box store can tell you, they tend to run out of power pretty fast.

That's what happened when some young people in Lexington Park were driving some carts stolen from a local store.

An Officer from the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of people operating motorized shopping carts in the area of Chancellor's Run Road and Greenview Parkway in Lexington Park.

Three individuals were located operating the carts on Norris Road. When one of the carts became disabled, the operator of the cart was identified to be Kieara La-Chay Fenwick, age 18 of Great Mills.

The other two were identified and both are juveniles. Fenwick was arrested on scene and charged with Theft.  One juvenile was charged with Theft, and the other juvenile will be charged with Theft at a later date.
