Firefighter injured fighting trailer blaze

Waldorf, MD -- A fallen power line is to blame for starting a blaze that injured a firefighter from the Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department.

Just after midnight on Friday morning, 15 firefighters responded to a report of a trailer fire on Acton Lane in Waldorf. A power line fell onto the roof of an equipment storage trailer and set it on fire.

Fifteen firefighters spent half an hour getting the flames under control. One firefighter was injured and was transported to Southern Maryland Hospital for treatment.

One trailer was destroyed and surrounding trailers were damaged. The estimated amount of damage is $300,000.
