Carjacker Sneaks Up on Driver

At 4:28 a.m. Aug. 10, Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the parking lot in front of a residence in the 5300 block of Halibut Place in Waldorf for the report of a carjacking.

Investigation revealed the victim, a 20-year-old Waldorf man, was walking to his vehicle unlocking it using the keyless remote.

When he opened the driver’s side door he noticed the suspect standing in the open passenger side door. The suspect brandished a handgun and demanded the vehicle’s keys.

The victim complied and the suspect fled the scene in the victim’s gray 1996 Chevrolet Blazer, displaying Maryland tags 521M371.

The suspect is described as a black male between 20 and 25 years old. He was wearing a black T-shirt and had a white cloth covering his mouth and nose.
