On Aug. 10, St. Mary’s Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call for a reported stabbing at a Lexington Park residence, report Lt. Dan Alioto.

Police learned that Mary Agnes Morgan, 36 of Lexington Park, was intoxicated and had engaged in a verbal dispute with her boyfriend, Marshall Rothwell.

Upon returning home drunk, Morgan and Rothwell began to argue, which led to Morgan obtaining a knife from the kitchen area and stabbing the Rothwell twice, police say.

The wounds were to the upper chest and arm. Rothwell was treated on the scene by the Lexington Park Rescue and refused any additional medical treatment.

Morgan was arrested by the investigating officer, Dep. Michael George and charged with first- and second-degree assault.
