Flag Lowered To Half-Staff; Charles County Mobile Intensive Care Unit Announces Passing Of Past Chief Atkinson

WALDORF, Md. - On behalf of Commissioner President Reuben B. Collins, II, he has ordered the county flag be flown at half-staff effective immediately until sunset on July 27, 2021, to honor retired Chief Robert W. “Rob” Atkinson, Sr. of the Charles County Mobile Intensive Care Unit.  Chief (ret) Atkinson served the residents of Charles County, Maryland for over 30 years.

The Charles County Mobile Intensive Care Unit regrets to announce the passing of Past Chief Robert W. “Rob” Atkinson Sr. on Sunday July 18, 2021. Rob passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Rob served the citizens of Charles County, MD for over 30 years and retired from the US Federal Government after a distinguished career as a Firefighter, Paramedic and Fire Inspector.

Arrangements are as follows;

Raymond Funeral Home located at 5635 Washington Ave, La Plata, MD 20646 is handling funeral arrangements. Services will be on Tuesday July 27, 2021 from 0930-1100 with Fire Department prayers at 1100. Interment will be at Trinity Memorial Gardens where a graveside service will be held and the Last Alarm sounded.
